MANILA, Philippines -- For Louise de los Reyes, the show must always go on even after the 17-year-old star of GMA-7’s “Alakdana” collapsed a week ago during the last taping days of the said series.
Exhaustion and the scorching summer heat were to blame. But the trouper in Louise forced herself back to work only an hour after she fainted.
“They wanted to confine me in the hospital even for awhile but I said no. I told them I’d rather finish the taping since it was for the last episodes. I collapsed probably because of fatigue and it was very hot that day,” explained Louise.
She added that there were just five sequences left so she opted to finish her scenes rather than have the whole production set up again for another day.
Now that she’s finished with “Alakdana,” GMA Artist Center readies her for a role in “Tween Hearts: The Movie.”
Louise also has her goal set to finish a college degree in Foreign Service. She is an incoming junior at the Lyceum College in Cavite.
She is grateful though for what “Alakdana” has given her. More than popularity, she is thankful for the money she earned from the show. She is proud to have helped out in paying the hospital bills of her father who suffered a stroke last year. She has also become the face of Urban Behavior clothing company.
As for her dream, Louise hopes that one day a movie or TV project would land on her that would give her a chance to validate herself as an actress via an acting award. The closest she got to an acting award was a nomination for Best New Movie Actress from the PMPC for the indie film “Agaton and Mindy.”
