Playing with their backs against the wall, the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings gave a collective effort on Friday's Game 5 of the PBA Commissioner's Cup best-of-seven Finals series and eked out a hard-earned 100-93 win over the Talk N Text Tropang Texters at the packed Big Dome.
Not just five, but 10 players played more than 12 minutes in the Gin Kings' game of survival as the league's most popular team made a conscious effort of relying not just on anyone but everyone.
In the end, the Gin Kings preserved their legs for the final push and went on to stay alive in the series, reducing the deficit to 3-2.
