MANILA, Philippines – TV and radio host KC Montero has sought the help of authorities to uncover the identity of the hacker of his Twitter account.
“know where the hacker is. The authorities have been informed. Apparently alot of his friends knew about it and they can all get in trouble,” read one of his tweets on the matter on May 18.
Montero said his account lost “a lot of followers” due to the hacker, which broke into his account a few days ago. Although he did not mention how he got his account back, Montero thanked some of his friends who helped him with the matter.
He also exchanged tweets with Twitter user @zdanny101 on May 18. In one of his initial tweets to the netizen, Montero asked @zdanny101 if he personally knows the hacker, whom the host identified simply as “Michael.”
@zdanny101 answered in the affirmative, but added, “I honestly don't know him that well.”
“do you know he hacked my twitter account?” Montero queried.
The netizen, in turn, admitted to Montero that, “He goes to school with me I talk to him sometimes but yeah but he told me about hacking something.”
Montero then told @zdanny101 that he has informed the authorities “and are going to talk to your parents.”
@zdanny101 apparently got taken aback with Montero’s response, asking him, “but why you telling me this I didn't do anything.”
Montero explained: “why you? because you were an accomplice. Youre an accessory to cyber hacking which is a federal offense.
“by your admission to knowing of this crime you have already implicated yourself. Be smart.
"you should think about yourself.”
Asked about the sanction he might receive from the authorities, Montero told @zdanny101:
“depending on your record and age, juvenile hall or possibly community service. Plus a mark on your record."
“dont worry you'll be seeing them soon enough.”
After their public exchange of Twitter posts, @zdanny101 told Montero that they need to talk in private.
Montero called on to his “lost hommies” to follow him again. “I hope you make it back,” read a part of his tweet.
The DJ currently has over 136,000 followers on the social microblogging site. He announced his return to Twitter also on Wednesday.
“Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, I to have been reborn. There can only be one highlander and his name is KC m**** f***** Montero!!!” he exclaimed.
It was not specified in Montero’s recent tweets, however, how he got in touch with @zdanny101, or how he found out that the name of the hacker is “Michael.”
