Sharon slighted by Hayden Kho's supposed swipe at her

MANILA, Philippines - Sharon Cuneta has reacted on Hayden Kho’s recent tweets, which allegedly questioned the genuineness of the images used for her ad campaign for a slimming salon.

Hayden reportedly posted this message on his Twitter account on Jan. 28: "There's a billboard ad in Edsa developed by advertisers who think consumers are stupid. Guess."

Although there was no mention of Marie France in the tweet, people felt Hayden is alluding to the singer-actress’ billboard for the slimming salon.

In a report made by Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) that came out Feb. 9, Sharon admitted having heard about Hayden’s tweet. "Kanina ko lang narinig. Tweet daw niya (Hayden), e. Sa Twitter daw. Kung totoo ‘yun, ang kapal ng mukha niya!” Sharon angrily said in her PEP interview.

"Ako... mas stupid namang isipin mo na gagawin ‘yung billboard na ‘yun starring yours truly, tapos makikita mo ako sa 'Star Power' na ang laki pala! Hindi naman gano'n, ‘di ba?

“As far as I'm concerned, stupid people shouldn't comment on what is stupid or not!” Sharon said with indignation.

The singer added that “decent people are (the only) people I would like to listen to. Not those who do not know the meaning of decency... and who treat women like they're nothing! Excuse me!”

Meanwhile, Hayden reacted on Sharon’s strongly worded statements via his Twitter posted 2:47 p.m., Feb. 9.

"Wow! i wasn't referring to the MF billboard. I was referring to a 'L**D' that's supposed to be a LOURDES. Dahan dahan naman po," Hayden tweeted.

This was followed by another tweet which said, “That was quite a wounding tirade from someone i respect. Ironic, really. Very ironic."

In PEP’s interview with Jojie Dingcong, consultant of the Belo Medical Group, he affirmed Hayden’s statement that the tweets were not meant to spite Sharon.

"It's not about Mega," Jojie said. According to him it is but Hayden’s reaction to the launch of another fragrance line wherein the competitor supposedly remarked, "Bago siya magbenta ng pabango, pabanguhin niya muna ang kanyang
imahe."

Sharon’s before and after billboard for Marie France has attracted controversy even before the Hayden incident. It was reported that it might be pulled out because it purportedly violated the guidelines set by the Ad Standards Council (ASC).

"Totally not true. Totally absurd. We never claimed anything that's not true, that people don't see. She even answered that herself on her interviews. We, or even the ASC, have not received any complaint. It's approved and the billboard
is up because it's real. Even the photographer, down to the stylist, can attest to the pictures released," NJ Torres, public relations officer of Marie France, said in a statement.
