At least one fisherman was reported missing while 66 fishermen and crewmembers of a tugboat were rescued following a predawn sea mishap off Cavite on Friday.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and local Cavite authorities are coordinating a search for the fisherman who was not immediately named, radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo reported.

Sketchy initial reports reaching the PCG headquarters in Manila showed the incident occurred off Sangley Point in Cavite, involving the fishing boat "Aleja" and the tugboat "Hagonoy."

The initial investigation showed the tugboat snagged on the fishing net cast by the "Aleja" and rammed the fishing vessel.

The "Hagonoy" tugboat remained intact after the incident, the report said.

Rescue teams managed to rescue all but one of the crewmembers of both vessels.
