MANILA, Philippines – Weeks after her very public supposed split with radio and TV host Mo Twister, Rhian Ramos is back to the grind, diving headlong into her latest project, the horror-comedy “Spooky Nights.”

She admits work is proving to be a happy distraction. “Happy ako, excited na maging busy ulit," said she in an interview with “24 Oras,” May 24.

This much she reiterated in her interview with PEP, May 26, adding that she had been intending to get busy for some time now--so much so that besides work, she also looks towards going back to school.

"May mga courses akong kinukuha. Para naman hindi lang ako na i-isa lang ang focus sa buhay, may back-up lagi," she explained.

Without mentioning Twister, Ramos said she’d rather do without love for the moment. "'Yoko na, 'no. Maaga naman para isipin 'yun [love]. Basically, 'yung iniisip ko sa ngayon is about me muna," said she in the same interview with PEP.

Ramos is also doing away with popular networking site Twitter—if only for the moment.

"I guess life is normal minus Twitter,” she said. “Pero I think naman one day kakayanin kong bumalik [to Twitter] without being angry or whatever."

Ramos and Twister’s breakup---although neither calls it that---was made public via the networking site and the ordeal traumatized the actress.

“’Yung last na nangyari, natakot talaga ako, lalo na nang isipin ng ibang tao na sinabi mo, tapos hindi naman ikaw. So, parang na-turn off lang ako,” she explained.

Ramos went on to downplay her recent meetings with “lawyer to the stars” Lorna Kapunan, explaining that she merely asked the latter for some advice. And no, she is not planning to take matters in court.

"Nagdesisyon kami to fix everything quietly—happy naman ako."

Ramos cleared, however, that she would definitely fight if backed into a corner. "Kung iha-handle ng ibang tao in a different way [the situation], wala na akong magagawa. I will have to change my moves. Ayoko lang, 'yung feeling na may gagawing mali 'yung tao, tapos wala kang magagawa. I think everyone naman has a choice.”

Whatever happens, Ramos said, "I think that's the most important thing. Kung ano man mangyari, I'm peaceful. I'm at peace. Alam ko kung ano ang kaya kong gawin.

“At the end of the day buhay ko 'to, e. Walang makakakuha nito sa akin.”
