MANILA, Philippines – Just as the story of Andi Eigenmann's pregnancy has gotten more convoluted by the day, the young actress finally gave a hint on the identity of her child’s father via Twitter.

“For your better understanding, I've only had one boyfriend before Jake whom I've only been seeing for the past 2 months. Therefore, Jake cannot be the said ex-boyfriend whom everyone has been talking about. #commonsense,” the “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin” star posted on June 30.

“Jake,” of course, refers to former president Joseph Estrada and Laarni Enriquez’s son, Jake Ejercito, whose name has been inadvertently dragged into the fray.

Following the June 29 pronouncement of Andi's mother, Jaclyn Jose, on national TV confirming that her daughter's pregnancy comes courtesy of the latter's "first boyfriend," speculations easily turned to Jake, as well as Andi's ex-boyfriend Albie Casiño as the possible father of the child.

Both men belied the speculation.

Immediately after Jaclyn’s admission aired, Jake tweeted that he is not Andi's first boyfriend and pleaded the public “not to jump into conclusions and misinterpret what has been said.”

“Let us just respect and pray for her, her baby, and family,” he added.

On the other hand, Albie's mother, Rina Casiño, also refuted suggestions that his son was Eigenmann’s first boyfriend.

“no ones denying nor confirming. Just saying he is not her 1st bf & I didnt hear ms jaclyn say Albie did u?” she posted on her Twitter account Wednesday, June 29, as a response to a followers query.

However, entertainment columnist and “E-Live” host Ogie Diaz quoted Mrs. Casiño on June 30 via Twitter as saying, “Walang problema kung anak ko ang nakabuntis ke Andi. Blessing yan. And we welcome DNA Test.”

Meanwhile, Andi’s older brother, Gabby, is appreciating "the beauty of the situation."

In a text message sent to PEP on also on June 30, Gabby admitted that “every time I would talk to her or see her [Andi], the last thing I expect to hear is an announcement of this sort” but that he is “proud that another life will be added to our family and to this world.”

"I believe that she will always do the right thing especially now that she will be a mother soon," he added.

"I understand completely what speculations may arise, and if I were in their situation, I might do so. But now, this blessing is happening to us, all the more I wouldn't even try to think negatively about it. Lastly, I am proud of her determination because she chose the mature and right path to happiness. After all, happiness is not a matter of chance, but of choice. So, people who say it cannot be done, should not interrupt those who are doing it. Yes to life! Yes to love! Yes to happiness," the rest of his statement read, as quoted on PEP.

Maxine, Andi’s older sister, also appeared in a taped interview on “TV Patrol” on Thusday to share what she advised Andi. "I told her not underestimate her strength because she’s one of the strongest people I know.”

Maxine, who at 22 is a single mother of two, said “I’m not married. That’s something people will say something about [me] but at the end of the day, I’m a good mother and I do my best.”

Maxine has no hatred for the father of Andi’s baby. She even addressed the yet-unnamed father via the same interview saying, “Thank you, magiging cute ang inaanak ko.”

She also said that their entire family is behind Andi to support her.

“I think that’s all she needs,” she added.

Andi’s mother network ABS-CBN likewise gave a short statement, through ABS-CBN Corporate Communications head Bong Osorio, on June 30.

“We respect the wishes of Andi's family for her as the Kapamilya network is with her during this delicate time,” it said.

By Friday, July 1, despite Jake's previous denial, a news item was published by Pilipino Star Ngayon alleging that he has already taken responsibility for Andi’s unborn child.

“Ayon kasi sa source, nagli-live in na raw ang dalawang ito. Sa katunayan ayon sa source ay kalat na kalat daw sa ABS-CBN ang live in set up nila,” a part of the article read.

This was immediately slammed by Jake, posting on his Twitter account on the same day, “all lies. her source's name's probably B.S tinyurl.com/3jeww2r.”
