Comedian Rowan Atkinson, best known to many as Mr. Bean, reportedly suffered a minor injury after his McLaren F1 car spun off a road and crashed into a tree and lamppost in Haddon, Cambridgeshire.

Atkinson walked away from the scene safely with a minor shoulder injury. The F1 supercar he was driving caught fire but was later put out by firefighters who arrived at the scene.

"We were called to the scene of a single vehicle collision on the A605 near Haddon at about 7.30 pm (1830 GMT) yesterday," a local police spokesman said.

"The driver of the vehicle, a man, was taken to Peterborough City Hospital."

Atkinson is known to have a passion for fast cars, a stark contrast to his comedic character which brought him to fame and stardom.

The McLaren F1 is one of the fastest production cars in the world and has a top speed of 230 miles (370 kilometers) per hour. It is worth around £650,000.

Atkinson is also best known for appearing in comedy shows like “Blackadder” and recently appeared in the popular British motoring TV show Top Gear. He has starred in movies such as Johnny English in 2003 and James Bond’s “Never Say, Never Again” alongside Sean Connery in 1983. (With reports from AFP).
