Manny: No showbiz for Jinkee

MANILA, Philippines – Saranggani Representative Manny Pacquiao is still not keen on letting his wife Jinkee get her hands wet in show business.

“Maraming importanteng bagay gaya ng business namin na dapat asikasuhin,” the boxing champ explained in an interview aired on “Paparazzi” on Sept. 4.

Pacquiao has been consistent with his stand on the matter. Recall that the news about Jinkee joining show business started in 2009 after she started endorsing the Belo Medical Group along with celebrities Lucy Torres-Gomez, Dingdong Dantes, Ruffa Gutierrez and Piolo Pascual.

In a previous Manila Bulletin report, Pacman specified that though he is okay with Jinkee doing endorsements, it's an entirely different thing when it comes to her entering the entertainment industry full on.

Meanwhile, aside from busying himself with his GMA-7 game show, “Manny Many Prizes,” and with his congressional duties, Pacman related that he’s already kicked off training for his third face-off with Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez this coming November.

“Naguumpisa na tayo sa training pero hindi pa talaga heavy training dahil malayo pa naman. Sa ngayon nagstart na tayo at ok naman,” said he.

The pound-for-pound king left for the US on Sept. 4 to continue the world press tour for the match. According to an “Unang Hirit" report on Sept. 5, the two fighters will be off to Mexico next for a media event similar to what took place at Quirino Grandstand last Sept.1.

Still from “Unang Hirit,” Marquez, who flew in last Thursday, shared what he loved about the Philippines during his three-day stay.

“I like the Philippine people,” quipped he.

In parting, the Mexican boxer said, “Thank you so much, I feel very comfortable being here.”

Pacman and Juan Manuel’s fight happens on Nov. 12 (US time) at the MGM Grand Las Vegas, Nevada.
