KC leaves Star Magic; Vicki's advice to Jinkee

source: mb.com.ph/

MANILA, Philippines — How true are rumors that KC Concepcion and Mark Bautista are at odds with each other? We heard that KC allegedly received unpleasant text messages from Mark over something.

• KC has left Star Magic and has signed a management deal with Viva’s Vic Del Rosario as an aftermath of the interview she granted to “The Buzz,” a move ABS-CBN allegedly did not agree to. But the career plan is to keep KC still in ABS-CBN as much as possible.

• We heard that Dr. Vicki Belo’s advice to Jinkee Pacquiao was never to separate from her husband Manny at all costs. Vicki reportedly told Jinkee, “If you let him go, so many other girls will be so much willing to take him.” Talking from expert experience, we see.

• Ogie Diaz is no longer the manager of Vice Ganda. But reports say Ogie will have a new show on ABS-CBN. You lose some, you win some.

• They said that the newest romantic pairing on local television is not Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna but Willie Revillame and Arci Muñoz. Arci denied Willie gifted her $2-million Singapore money. She just held the amount for the fun of it, she said. The budget was allocated for all the Louis Vuitton bags Willie bought for display at his newly-acquired building in Quezon City.

• Ms. Lorna Tolentino will celebrate her birthday on Dec. 22 at a rest house in the South. Her friends said she still turns sentimental with the prospect of celebrating yet another year without Rudy Fernandez by her side.

• The 2012 wedding to watch for: Roman Romulo and Shalani Soledad’s union set for Jan. 22 in Tagaytay. But the couple is still the wedding details to themselves.

Ryan swears he’s luckiest with Judy Ann

Ryan Agoncillo talked lovingly about Judy Ann Santos during the “My Househusband” press con recently. He calls himself the luckiest man alive being married to the actress for three years.

Ryan is amazed by his wife’s ability to make wise decisions that normally test a person’s integrity and principle.

“In the beginning of our relationship, I already saw in Judy Ann the value that she gives to it by caring for me because back then, there were intrigues about me riding on the popularity of a junior superstar. But she showed me that she can handle it well and she did.”

Ryan continued, “When we got married, she amazed me with how easily she has made the decision to take a break from the business she grew up in, where she is regarded so highly, to step back and go domestic, to take care of me and our daughter Yohan.”

“When she got pregnant and gave birth to our baby Lucho, Judy Ann amazed me even more about how far she would go hands-on to the kids. And now, as you can see, she takes care of herself on top of all of it. Nakita naman ninyo kung gaano siya kaganda at nakabalik agad sa katawan niya noong bago siya naging pregnant,” Ryan lovingly described his wife.

“I know that my job gets me to be around beautiful girls every day, but I know in my heart that the one I have at home is by far, the most beautiful of them all in so many levels,” he said.

Ryan is promoting Joey Reyes’ “My Househusband: Ikaw Na!” under OctoArts Films, an entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

Former actress says no to showbiz comeback

The beautiful Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez never forgets to get together with a few friends from the entertainment media, whether in Tacloban City where she and her family are based or here in the city.

Recently, she hosted a sumptuous dinner at their North Forbes residence before going back to Tacloban where she serves as two-time councilor and supportive wife to Mayor Alfred Romualdez.

The dinner was catered by her restaurant business Patio Victoria. The Spanish cuisine served that night was divine.

Table conversation ranged from her work, to family, to plans in politics or maybe showbiz, to wind down on the latest show biz happenings and issues where an exchange of funny, wise and sometimes absurd opinions were exchanged.

She has another term as Councilor and she has not seriously thought of the next plan as far as politics is concerned. But largely, she said, the plans will depend on what her husband Mayor Alfred will be deciding on.

There are no immediate plans for her to go back to show biz as she has her hands full with work in Tacloban.

The still beautiful and sexy Kring said they have a new resort in Tacloban where they have been entertaining a lot.

She also talked about her project “Cristina’s Learn & Earn Program.” “We have been bringing short term education (like cosmetology and food processing) to the grassroots so our constituents can learn basic livelihood skills which they can use to start up small businesses. So far, it is so successful,” she said.

Recently, Tacloban played host to an international delegation of young men and women who belong to the non-stock, non-profit educational organization called Up With People.

Up With People is almost like an exchange student program where people between 16-29 years old can enroll and travel for six months to learn a lot. For information on Up With People, you may log on to www.upwith people.org.

Rep. Jack Enrile gets together with showbiz media

His name is by-word among showbiz people but it is ironic how the entertainment media only got to see Cagayan Rep. Jack Enrile recently when he held a get-together Christmas party last week.

Enrile said it was just a suggestion made to him by our colleague Jobert Sucaldito.

An age old rumor was addressed during the media get together regarding the death of ’80s matinee idol Alfie Anido. The congressman gamely answered the question and belied all rumors linking him to the tragedy for so many years.

The media discovered how easy-going and down-to-earth the congressman was opposed to the scary image painted of him. And he is used to getting that comment: “I guess pag hindi pa po ako kilala, akala nila nakakatakot ako pero pag na-meet na nila ako, they say that I am not scary pala.”

The son of Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile said he has not yet made the decision to run for Senator contrary to rumors, but he does not completely rule out the possibility.

He raffled off so many appliances to the delight of the media. By the way, the Delimondo bag of goodies was the biggest hit for us.

‘Shake’ franchise concludes in December

Regal Films’ “Shake, Rattle and Roll 13” is local cinema’s longest running series in the history of Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) and Mother Lily Monteverde makes no apologies.

The franchise has been successful all these years and it is understandable how she would like to keep it running, a captured market for horror flicks and stars to boot.

But this year marks the fitting conclusion to the era.

“We made sure that this movie will be the best that they will see. It will be a fitting closure to an MMFF history,” she said.

Showing Dec. 25, the trilogy presents: “Rain, Rain Go Away” directed by Chris Martinez and starring Eugene Domingo (also in the cast of OctoArts’ “My Househusband”), Jay Manalo and Edgar Allan Guzman; “Tamawo” directed by Richard Sommes and starring Zanjoe Marudo and Maricar Reyes; and “Parola” directed by Jerrold Tarog and starring Kathryn Bernardo, Sam Concepcion, Louise delos Reyes, Hiro Magalona, Dimples Romana, Ina Raymundo, Ara Mina, and Julia Clarete.

Regal’s other entry

Almost all relative newcomers cast in Regal’s “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” confessed they are awed by the sheer magnitude of stardom in this film.

Starring Maricel Soriano, Gabby Concepcion, Jericho Rosales, Dennis Trillo, Lovi Poe, Carla Abellana, Solenn Heussaff, Paulo Avelino, Eula Caballero, Agot Isidro and Ronaldo Valdez, the movie directed by Jun Lana hopes to pull all stops in the drama department come Festival time.

Carla Abellana, Mother Lily clarified, will be promoting this film (as she is also the leading lady in another entry – the ER Ejercito film “Manila Kingpin: Asiong Salonga”). The actress will be riding the float of “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” during the Parade of Stars on Dec. 24.
