MANILA, Philippines – Young actress Julia Montes appealed to naysayers to look past the age gap between her and leading man Coco Martin.

Julia, 16, currently topbills the ABS-CBN primetime series “Walang Hanggan” along with Coco, 30.

While she acknowledged that such reactions can’t be avoided “kasi may opinion talaga tayong mga Pilipino na nakikita nila ‘yung artista sa kung ano rin ‘yung character nila sa show,” Julia pleaded as quoted by Push in a report on Jan. 31, “sana isipin na lang nila na hindi naman kami ito personally.”

In any case, the Filipino-German actress uses these criticisms as motivation to improve her craft.

Asked if she is willing to be paired with older actors anew in the future, Julia said yes.

Willing naman ako kasi wala naman sa age 'yun,” she was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Julia said that she’s now more comfortable working with Coco and that she feels “kilig” when filming their scenes.

“May kanya-kanya na kaming ideas na shini-share sa isa’t isa,” she told Push.
