Topless Nina In Men’s Mag Shocks Netizens

MANILA, Philippines – She has often bared her soul through her songs, but Nina recently embraced a different kind of self-exposure—posing topless for men’s magazine Playboy Philippines.

The magazine released the cover photo of its May-June issue on May 31, which shows the Soul Siren lying on a bed of colorful feathers, with her left arm covering her breasts. She's merely clad in a skimpy bejeweled underwear, a pair of shimmering pumps, and for her accessories, a pair of earrings, a ring, and a bangle.



The cover caption, meanwhile, reads: “Siren Unleashed.” And according to the magazine's Facebook fan page, Nina's set is composed of Burleque-inspired photos.

Many, though surprised, went “wow” over the photo, as seen on a flood of comments on the magazine’s FB page, as well as on social microbbloging site Twitter.

Some of the more positive reactions were “Shining Diam0nd. . . .PERFECT.♥♥,” “one sizzling hot siren! ,nina ftw,” “Song Siren Nina is posing for playboy?? wow. I always found her attractive” and “So flawlessly sexy!”

Another netizen alluded to one of Nina’s most popular cover songs, “Love Moves In Mysterious Ways,” tweeting, “Woah. Nina Moves In Mysterious Way, indeed! #Playboy #PlayboyPH.”

There were those, however, who were disenchanted with the Diamond-record-selling singer’s decision to pose for the magazine.

“‎#ThatAwkwardMoment a wholesome celebrity crosses the dark side into a more mature image. Basta wholesome, direk ha! Art for art's sake!,” wrote a Facebook user.

One said, “nagulat naman ako dito!! parang hindi bagay kay Nina!!! :(,” while another deemed, “Nina (yes, the ‘siren’) poses almost totally naked for the cover of playboy magazine phils. People are getting desperate nowadays.”

A Twitter user, meanwhile, defended Nina over the possible negative impressions this would have on her career and popularity.

A tweet read, “Nkita ko na cover ni Nina sa Playboy Mag. At wala nman ako nakita na masama dun. Pag nagpose ba sa men's mag porn agad? laos agad? Di kaya!!”
