The player hopes his request to be traded from Talk ‘N Text, which still owns his rights, could provide him with a fresh start.
Espiritu, whose father Danny is a prominent agent in PBA circles, said Aguilar will no longer issue any more statement, leaving the ball in Talk ‘N Text’s court.

“Nasa kamay na ng Talk ‘N Text kung ano gagawin nila kay Japeth,” said Espiritu. “We are in constant discussion naman with TNT management and if there’s a development, we’ll inform Japeth as soon as possible because he’s really looking forward to play in the second conference.”
Aguilar is still in the United States and has no more commitment with any team as his contract as practice player with NBA D-League team Santa Cruz Warriors had already expired.
Espiritu said Aguilar will just celebrate his birthday on January 25 with his family in Chicago before returning to the Philippines.
“Right now request lang ni Japeth is to celebrate his birthday with his mom then we’ll see after that,” said Espiritu. “Actually wala pa talaga siyang ticket pero he’s really coming back.”
The 6-foot-9 Aguilar tried his luck in the D-League, but failed to make a roster spot after being drafted in the seventh round by the Warriors.
Talk ‘N Text team manager Aboy Castro earlier told InterAKTV he was surprised with the news that Aguilar has demanded for a trade and will try to sit down with the player once he comes home.
