6 Killed, 7 Hurt as Van Falls into 300-ft. Ravine in Benguet

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet — Six people were killed and seven more injured when their van fell into 300-foot ravine at Kilometer 43 in Atok, Benguet on Sunday.
 

Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, said the accident involving a Hyundai Van with license plates WST-874 happened around 12:30 a.m.

Occupants of the van were headed home in Baguio City after attending a relative’s wake in Tadian, Mt. Province, Azurin said.

Azurin said six of the occupants were killed on the spot after the van’s 300-foot fall.
He identified them as Lawrence Bondad, Kyla Galino Rondales, Jyunanrie Galino, Raquel Galino, Claring Pacsi Abalos, and Febelyn Galino Garcia.

Those injured and taken to the Benguet General Hospital were identified in a police report as Wilbert Bauding Galino, Josh Galino, Fretzie Galino, Melanie Galino, Howard Rondales, Travis Josh Galino, and Panganiban Bauding.
