KathNiel confirms mutual understanding

From magulong usapan a few months back, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla said that they now have a “mutual understanding” when it comes to the status of their relationship.
“Parang MU na kami,” revealed Daniel during the press conference of their upcoming movie Must Be . . . Love.

To which Kathryn agreed, saying that there are just some things that shouldn’t be rushed.

“Kagaya po ng sinabi ni DJ [Daniel’s nickname], may mga bagay na hindi natin dapat mamadaliin, and nagkakaintindihan kaming dalawa. ‘Yon and importante na alam namin kung ano ang priorities namin ngayon. Ang dami pa naming dapat gawin at ang daming pang dapat ipunin para sa mga gusto namin sa future.”

Do they go out on dates?

“Siguro considered as date naman yung manonood ng movie po, pero kasama lagi si Mama,” Kathryn answered.

TV host/columnist Ogie Diaz then pointed out that since they were paired together, there have been no reports linking Daniel to any other girl except Kathryn.

“Nagbago na po kaming mga Padilla,” was Daniel’s explanation.

“Kailan lang ginawa ni Tito Robin, di ba? Ako naman ganito, si Erpats [Rommel Padilla], naman gano’n . . . nagbago na ang mga Padilla.”

KathNiel (the name of their love team) was then asked how they celebrated Valentine’s Day; “Sweet. Masaya. Nag-movie marathon kami ni Kathryn. Siyempre, nakapuntos na naman ako. Nung Valentine’s, masayang araw yun. Masaya,” Daniel answered with a smile.

And while she gave him a shoe rack as a Valentine’s Day gift, Daniel said that he gave Kathryn something intangible, “Pagmamahal lang po.”

As expected their answers were repeatedly interrupted by loud cheers from several fan clubs, which for some odd reason have become a confusing and often distracting addition to Star Cinema’s recent press conferences.

Coming from the phenomenal success of their teleserye Princess and I and their previous team-ups in 24/7 in Love and Sisterakas, the box office appeal of this generation’s hottest love team will be put to the test in their launching movie Must be . . . Love.

And despite the pressure Daniel said that they were very confident of their fan’s support.

In the story written by Mae Chua and Melai Monge, Kathryn plays Patchot Espinosa, a simple girl who sees life in slow motions while longing for the love of a mother and nurturing a big crush on her best friend Ivan Martinez, played by Daniel. She’s quite sure that her feeling must be love, until her cousin arrives from the US and distracts Ivan’s attention away from her—and it’s Ivan’s turn to suspect that what he feels for Patchot’s cousin must be love.

Also in the cast are Liza Soberano, John Estrada, John Lapus, Miguel Morales, Kit Thompson, Ramon Christopher, Janus del Prado, Sharlene San Pedro, Paul Salas, Cacai Bautista and Arlene Muhlach.
