Chieffy on football duel with Derek: 'Let's do it!'

MANILA, Philippines – Actress Angelica Panganiban may have to buy her own vuvuzela, as a football match to win her heart looms.

Last Thursday, Azkals co-captain Emilio "Chieffy" Caligdong said he is keyed to face Panganiban's boyfriend Derek Ramsay in a football duel. This is after hearing that Ramsay has already accepted his earlier challenge.

"Kung pagbigyan niya (Ramsay) ako na magkaroon ng one-on-one, posible. Why not?" the football player told abs-cbnNEWS.com.

Caligdong vowed to show his skills on the field against hunk actor Ramsay.

"Pakita ko sa kanya kung ano 'yung, kung saan ako galing na manlalaro na futbolero," he said.

Caligdong has earlier admitted his admiration for the already-taken Panganiban, even challenging Ramsay to the sport.

He said he will be pleasured to face the actor, who meanwhile also plays frisbee.

"Kung gusto niya, I'm proud na makalaban ko siya. Celebrity rin siya, eh," he added. "So sa akin, malaking bagay na iyan."

But, he asks: "Ang tanong sa kanya, malaking bagay rin [ba] sa kanya?"

Trying to erase personal tension, Caligdong said the entire thing is just "for fun."

"Hindi [ko] naman [aagawin] iyong girlfriend niya. Crush lang naman so nag-aadmire lang ako dahil maganda siya," he said.

Regards to Angelica

Caligdong also expressed interest in meeting Panganiban, a Kapamilya actress who recently starred in the Star Cinema movie "Bulong."

"Kung [pupuwede], mas ma-aadmire ko siya. Malaking bagay na iyon para sa 'kin," he said.

If the time comes, Caligdong said he will be thrilled to act more like a fan.

"Sobrang saya ko siguro. Siyempre, pa-picture ako sa kanya at pa-autograph," he said.

When asked if the Azkals star has another celebrity crush, Caligdong was straightforward.

"Rhian Ramos, wala na," he said.
