MANILA, Philippines -- ABS-CBN reporter Dyan Castillejo was given a special citation during St. Scholastica College's 2011 Hildegarde Awards for Women in Media and Communication.
The sports correspondent was cited for her exemplary field reports on Manny Pacquiao's training and fights.
“I really didn't imagine being in the sports broadcast field after being out of the world of sports," said Castillejo, a former tennis player, said when she received the plaque.
"It feels great to cover Manny Pacquiao's triumphs," she shared.
Castillejo said she wanted to inspire people to take on a healthy lifestyle.
“I want to inspire young people to get into sports and also parents to have their kids get into sports. It's such a great field, it's inspiring, it keeps you young, it keeps you fit and healthy,” she said.
ABS-CBN's Matanglawin also won in the development communication category.
