Had President Benigno Aquino III asked during their meeting last week, Senator Panfilo Lacson would be willing to share where he hid or how he steered away from being caught by authorities.

"Hindi namin pinag-usapan," Lacson told reporters, referring to how he managed to hide to evade arrest in connection with the Dacer-Corbito double murder case.

"'Di naman ako tinanong eh. Had he asked me, I would have given him a lowdown kung saang lupalop ako nagpunta," he added.

Last week, Aquino said he had met with Lacson. "He came to my office and we got to talk there," he said at the time.

Lacson reiterated that their meeting showed how "confident" he is with the head of state.

Last month, Lacson surfaced after more than a year of hiding to avoid arrest due to his supposed involvement in the Dacer-Corbito murder case.

Lacson was the head of the Philippine National Police from November 1999 to January 2001. It was during this time that he allegedly masterminded the abduction and killing of publicist Salvador "Bubby" Dacer and Dacer's driver, Emmanuel Corbito.

At the time, Lacson was concurrent chief of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force, the unit that allegedly carried out the executions.

The Court of Appeals has already junked the multiple murder case filed against Lacson.

Lacson was first elected senator in 2001 and to another term in 2007, making him ineligible for reelection in the 2013 midterm elections. He ran but lost in the 2004 presidential elections.
