Iwa Moto and Mickey Ablan: Still an open book?

MANILA, Philippines – Some people fight on Twitter while some people's miseries seem to stem from what they say there. But there are those who make up on the site… or, at least, try to put their differences past them.

The Iwa Moto-Mickey Ablan relationship saga reached what could very well be a turning point when, on May 12, the latter visited Iwa on the GMA set of her sitcom, “Andres De Saya.” As per reports, the visit suddenly turned ugly when their talk turned sour and Mickey took Iwa’s cellphone and left.

An agitated Iwa reportedly followed her non-showbiz ex outside, and when she couldn’t find him, she apparently trashed his car. It also surfaced that Mickey had taken Iwa’s cellphone because he was jealous of someone, and he supposedly wanted to find out who the guy was.

Iwa was also reportedly hurt and wounded after taking out her anger on Mickey’s car, that a reporter that happened to arrive on the scene—seeing a hysterical Iwa on the street—had volunteered to bring her home and then to the hospital to get her wounds attended to. By May 13, this story had broken through various entertainment reports.

But on the day the incident happened, Iwa had tweeted: “Stop fighting kung Nakikita no ng walang pag asa. Mag simula ka nalang ulit. New start new life.”

While it is unclear at this point to whom this message is addressed, tracing back the Iwa-Mickey story, it would be recalled that in February this year, news broke out that they had broken up, apparently because of a third party—a lady from showbiz whom Iwa refused to name but at one point was said to be Jodi Sta. Maria.

On a May 13 interview by PEP, Iwa—whom they caught up with at the hospital where she just had her wounds taken care of—insisted that they had broken up long before that; in December, in fact.

Also on May 13, Iwa posted a series of tweets pertaining to the untoward incident that happened on the grounds of GMA.

She started with, “Pls stop na po. What ever happened was between the 2 of us.” This was followed by, “Im sorry sa lahat ng nadamay sa gulo. Im praying na sana maging maayos lahat. God is good.”

But her May 13 Twitterpiphany (or, her epiphany that she chose to share on Twiiter) went on.

Lets not believe kung ano ang mga nakita o nabalitaan natin. Im not defending anyone pero lht ng bgy may rason.

I admit may mali din ako. Lets pray maging ok n lht. Im sorry sa mga nadamay. At naapektohan. Nangyari na. Tapos na. Lets move on.

Pls tapos na po. Nangyari na. Wag nating palakihin. Ayoko na po ng gulo.

Lets face it.Tao din ako.Napupuno. Nagagalit.Nagkataon lang ginagawang big deal dhil sa trabaho ko.Sori i know mali ung actions na gnawa ko.”

She also responded to a follower, saying, “walang tama walang mali.Nag kagulo dhil d kmi nagkasundo.Ayoko ng gulo. Wag na nating guluhin ung tao. Grabe n ung damage.”

And continued with:

Mali ang ginawa ko. As a girl. Sorry po ulit. At sa gma network im sorry dahil sa napaka pangit na actions na ginawa ko.”

Im ok. Im ok. God has plans. Lalabas aq para maging happy. D ako papaapekto. Positive.”

And with the last few tweets of that day, while she posted, “Masaya ako. Masaya. Masayang Masaya,” she likewise followed shortly with, “Ok aamin na ako. Ang lungkot ko!”

In the wee hours of May 14, Iwa sent Mickey a message on Twitter: “@MickeyAblan like q ung tweet mo from thenotebook. Super:)” while the post just before it, from TheNotebook account, read: “I've come to realize that we never stop loving the people who leave. We just stop needing them like we used to.

She later followed this with tweets that seemed to show a bit of regret: “Ngaun lang nag sink in sakin mga nawala sakin. Now im going to pray na kayanin ko to. Choice ko to and i have to face the consequences.

And a few more tweets later: “Mahirap mag let go. Pero mas mahirap kumapit. Kahit alam nyo nang mali. But god is good. Pag bumitiw ka. Sasaluhin ka nya.

By Sunday, May 15, she tweeted: “God bless you all. Sorry po sa lahat ng nasaktan ko. Masaya po aq

And perhaps more tellingly, possibly hinting that she and Mickey are indeed on better terms after the incident, she tweeted him: “@mickeyablan be strong. Sorry.”

Curiously, PEP’s Scoopbox also had a couple of items pertaining to Iwa and Mickey, which was posted late on Saturday, May 14. The first noted that, according to a veteran reporter, Iwa and Mickey could not have broken up in December. The same reporter supposedly follows Iwa’s twitter account and even tweeted: "noong bandang Pebrero o Marso lang ay nag-a-I-love-u pa si Iwa ke Mickey."

The other Scoopbox item, posted on the same day right around the same time, raised somebody’s opinion that if GMA was quick to hire lawyer Atty. Lorna Kapunan for Rhian Ramos following the Mo Twister Twitter revelations, then they should also hire a lawyer for Iwa, whose situation with her ex has reached a point of physical injuries.

While that may be a valid issue raised, it seemed with Iwa and Mickey’s current state—at least based on Iwa’s Twitter musings and her reaching out to Mickey through the site—perhaps things may still be truly fixed between the two.
