MANILA,Philippines - After reports of his condition getting better, comedy actor Dolphy had to go through blood transfusion as his hemoglobin level went down.
Dolphy’s director-actor son Eric Quizon shared on “24 Oras” on June 19, “They’re tansfusing some blood sa kanya ngayon.”
But he added, “Hindi naman ganoon karami. Kumbaga ‘yung isang pack na dapat sa apat na oras ngayon hinati nila sa apat. Bale one fourth of a pack takes four hours. So bale 12 hours siyang may blood transfusion.”
It was also reported in the newscast that Dolphy had been put back on respirator after only six hours of being removed from it.
“Naka-respirator siya ngayon [pero] susubukan ulit tanggalin. Titingnan kung gaano katagal uli siya makakatagal [na makahinga nang mag-isa], tapos ibabalik uli 'yon hanggang sa mag-improve na ‘yung pag-breathe niya on his own," Eric explained.
Although sick, the ace comedian reacts whenever a visitors drop by his room at the Makati Medical Center.
“‘Yung reflexes niya mas okay, mas gumagalaw siya. Hindi lang siya nakakasalita kasi may nakapasak sa ilong niya, may nakapasak sa bibig niya. But otherwise ano naman, pagka may sinasabi kami kami, nagre-react siya. Minsan ngumingiwi, dumidila, tinataasan kami ng kilay,” Eric shared.
Dolphy has been hospitalized at the Makati Medical Center since last week.
He was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital because of pneumonia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
