Geoff Eigenmann and Carla Abellana have been together for over three years now, so it’s only natural for people to ask if they’re already planning to tie the knot.
“As of now, wala pa naman. Things like that, we’ll just let things fall into place. Hindi kailangan i-rush,” Geoff said during the press conference of his upcoming GMA-7 afternoon drama “Forever” on Tuesday, January 8.
The Kapuso actor explained that if he does propose marriage to Carla, he doesn’t want a long engagement.
“Gusto ko kasi, if there’s a proposal that will happen, gusto ko yung within three months or six months, mangyari na agad. Ayoko yung propose now, tapos two years later pa yung kasal,” Geoff said.
“Gusto ko tuluy-tuloy na,” he added
The “Forever” star currently lives with his mom, actress Gina Alajar. So before he considers settling down with Carla, Geoff would want to at least have his own house.
“Mahirap kasi mahirap iwan yung mom ko, e. Kahit hindi kami masyadong nagkikita, mahirap pa rin kasi we’re the only two people in the house now. So kung umalis ako, wala na rin siyang kasama talaga so mahirap pa rin,” he shared.
Geoff’s latest Kapuso drama “Forever,” which will premiere on January 21, pairs him with actress Heart Evangelista. The two first worked together in 2004, when they were still ABS-CBN stars.
The actor said he has “no hesitations” when it comes to working with the “Sosy Problems” star, even if this entails doing kissing scenes, for instance.
“We’ve always been comfortable with each other. Everything is still the same in our work relationship, basically,” he said.
But does Carla get jealous when he gets paired with other actresses?
“It was never a problem for us,” Geoff said. “On our part, parang na-lay down na yun na this is our our work, this is the nature of our work. So there’s really no need to get jealous kasi alam mo naman kung ano yung nangyayaring totoo.”
He, too, does not get jealous, although Geoff would prefer it if Carla doesn’t do intimate scenes with other actors. Still, he doesn’t limit his girlfriend when it comes to work.
“If a movie or a scene calls for it, kailangan talaga gawin, this is basically what puts food in our mouths, so we just suck it up and go with the flow.”
Although he’s already worked with Carla a number of times in —from 2009’s “Rosalinda” to 2011’s “Magic Palayok”— Geoff still to do another project with her.
“As much as possible, I’m wishing for that. Kasi, love of my life e. So as much as possible, pati trabaho kasama ko rin siya para hindi na mag-worry kung what’s happening and all that,” he said.
But Geoff added: “For me, ever since naman, I like being partnered with others kasi you’ll learn a lot that way.”
